Mainstage

Our mainstage program (AKA our "regular season") features full-length plays and musicals submitted and selected by our audiences and members. It is free for any community member to audition and participate in these plays, and auditions are open to folks of all experience levels. It is rare for us to have a show without at least one beginner or PHP newcomer! We know how important it is for adults to have the opportunity to discover and unleash their creativity together, so we're committed to offering year-round opportunities.

Junior

Our Pumphouse Junior youth program focuses on fee-free and low-cost education for youth in grades K-12 from public, private, and homeschool backgrounds. Together, our Jr. volunteer team and young performers and crew members put together quality performances while learning about stagecraft, emotional intelligence, and cooperation. Our multi-age program encourages leadership, mentorship, and teamwork and offers opportunities for family groups to participate together. We are currently expanding our program to meet the overwhelming need for more arts opportunities for young performers.

Unlimited

Our Pumphouse Unlimited program is our newest program, offering scripted and unscripted content to our audiences that push boundaries, challenge and excite audiences, and offer new opportunities for our directors, designers, and actors.

Along with our Downtown Ghost Tour, the Unlimited program is also home to the newly-christened improv troupe Legion of Comedy. They perform a highly unpredictable comedy show monthly, typically on the fourth Friday.

Playwrights

Our Pumphouse Playwrights program offers opportunities for playwrights to showcase and develop their work in our staged reading series. In the past two years, we've featured staged readings of plays by such esteemed playwrights as Emily McClain, John Mabey, Erin Considine, Will Murdock, Mel Konner, Gina Marie Dropp, and more.

Georgia playwrights can submit their full-length plays for the opportunity to have them read in our developmental series. Through this program, Pumphouse supports the creation of new art and supports the Georgia playwright community, all at no cost to the artists.
