Enjoy this adaptation of E.B. White’s classic children’s book Charlotte’s Web with Pumphouse Junior and director Katie E. Cornett this summer. This story follows the remarkable pig Wilbur and the unique friendships he forms with the Zuckermans’ niece Fern, the spider Charlotte, and all the other barnyard animals. Roles are available for children ages 5-18.

Longtime Pumpie Karen Ruetz’s play For A Good Time, Mary was the first to be read in our Local Playwright Series, and will return for a full production directed by Corinne Scott next year! When Mary’s friend Jenny asks her to take on her phone sex side business while she’s traveling, Mary sees it as an opportunity to help her laid-off husband. But will she be able to keep it a secret?

Director Leslie McCrary Owens returns to Pumphouse for The Sugar Bean Sisters, a Southern Gothic comedy of romance, murder and alien abduction, the Nettle sisters are determined to escape spinsterhood—Willie Mae by going to Salt Lake and finding a good Mormon husband and Faye by hopping on the spaceship when the “space people” return for another visit.

Aaron Sorkin’s Broadway hit A Few Good Men is about the trial of two Marines for complicity in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay. Their Navy lawyer, prodded by a female member of their Defense team, evenutally makes an effort to defend his clients and, in doing so, puts the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial. Directed by Laurel Ann Lowe.
THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE

In The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, an eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious, touching stories from their home lives, they spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing “ding” of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Directed by Alex LaVelle and Bill Brown.
