“Surviving Grace” Sep 16 – Oct 1, 2005

SurvivingGrace_bgThe story surrounds the lives of Kate Griswald, a workaholic TV comedy writer in New York, and her domineering mother– Grace. As Grace begins to show signs of Alzheimer’s Disease, Kate is required to make decisions and cope with her mother’s illness. Her father Jack, a dentist, adds to Kate’s misery as he moves into mid-life crisis mode. The play, written by Trish Vradenburg who is herself a comedy writer for such shows as “Family Ties”, and “Designing Women”, contains comic elements and pathos that are part of the experience of Alzheimer’s Disease.
